Boston Health Care for the Homeless (BHCHP) Volunteer Opportunity: HER Saturday Orientation, February 23, 6:00PM EST, ZOOM
Posted February 22, 2024
Please find two Boston Health Care for the Homeless opportunities below:
- ’24-’25 AmeriCorps Cohort application now open! See Handshake for more information, or find the application at https://www.bhchp.org/careers/americorps/#toggle-id-3 . Direct interest, inquiries, or comments directly to Mike Welch at: [email protected] or Katie Hayward at: [email protected]
- HER Saturday (see attachment) is coming back after a three year, COVID related hiatus. It is a drop-in space for street involved women that offers medical, BH and case management services in a fun, welcoming and safe environment. We utilize a lot of volunteers (10-12 per shift) to staff food and drink stations, work the door, conduct activities, escort patients to services, set up and break down stations. The HER Saturday team is especially interested in volunteers who have language skills (Spanish and Haitian Creole are the two biggest needs) and/or are from the community. To learn more about HER Saturday, see Channel 5’s story a few years ago, https://www.wcvb.com/article/5-for-good-her-saturday-clinic-offers-women-experiencing-homelessness-safe-space/27042127 .
