Job Description *
The Manager of Internships is an ideal role for an emerging professional interested in developing a wide variety of professional skills at a growing organization. Semester-long internships at social impact organizations are the core of our experiential learning model and the Manager of Internships plays a key role in their success by supporting both our college students, known as fellows, and their mentors at their internship site. The Manager of Internships will report to the Director of Internships and collaborate closely with other program team members. Through analyzing feedback and providing coaching to mentors and fellows, the Manager supports the overall quality of the Semester in the City (SITC) experience and focuses on delivering an excellent internship experience for the mentor and fellow. The case management responsibilities of the role will help us deepen the mental health and wellness support and resources that we provide to our students and entail instituting community-level interventions within CFSI.

The ideal candidate brings relationship-building skills, a collaborative spirit, the ability to work cross-functionally, and critical thinking to their work. We are looking for someone who is experienced in case management, who can work at the community/program level with young adults, and who has a desire to help us build our capacity for and practice of student support.

This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to work in-person 2-3 days a week in the office located at 89 South Street, Boston. The preferred start date for this role would be early July 2024.

Internship Support and Program Quality Assurance, 60%
Support a portfolio of host sites each semester to build relationships and provide on-site support and guidance to fellows and mentors.
Provide coaching and support in a “real-time” manner to both fellows and mentors on a variety of topics, including but not limited to time and project management, self-advocacy, communication in the workplace, and more.
Disseminate and analyze bi-weekly student and mentor surveys to identify best practices, issue areas, and trends across the internship program.
Provide one-on-one and group advising sessions to fellows at all assigned portfolio sites to build professional development skills.
Collaborate with other members of the program team to assess student issues and provide coordinated support.
Coordinate events at the beginning of each semester to train and onboard mentors and fellows.
Conduct site visits each semester with each placement to gain a deeper understanding of the mentor and fellow’s experiences and address any concerns or support needs.

Case Management and Student Care (40%)
Provide case management for students whose mental health and wellness challenges significantly detract from their ability to participate successfully in the program.
Complete intake interviews with each fellow before the start of the program.
Work with community partners and campus resources to connect students with needed support.
Serve as a member of our student support team, advising staff on their work with students.
Advise other staff on their work s students.
Coordinate the response of staff and external partners to student challenges.
Join response team efforts for students with pronounced struggles.
Process critical incidents as needed
Maintain accurate, complete records and timely communication with other team members.
Manage and grow relationships with community and home campus partners.
Develop and conduct workshops or facilitate groups for our students on such topics as emotional health and managing the stress of direct service roles.
Requirements/Qualifications *
You have 1-2 years of professional experience in case management.
You hold a BSW or a BA in counseling, psychology, or a related field.
M.A. level degree in social work or a related field highly preferred.
LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, or Community Health Worker certification highly preferred.
You have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and would thrive in a role that allows you to connect with a wide range of people.
You are passionate about and have experience in coaching and supporting students with a problem-solving and customer service orientation.
You have experience maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion around student matters.
You have strong organization and risk assessment skills, along with the ability to follow up on cases to ensure connection to and coordination of internal and external referrals.
You have some familiarity with Boston area community resources and the ability to seek support/consultation when needed.
You are able to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
You have the ability to respond to unexpected, unusual situations with creativity and flexibility.
You bring deep commitment to diversity, belonging, inclusion and equity; and experience in working with culturally diverse teammates and students with an awareness and sensitivity to closing the educational gap.

Experience with Salesforce, Form Assembly, Mail Chimp, Asana, or Canvas learning platform a plus.
