Transition House – via Jessye Kass Consulting Hiring Community Advocate (Case Manager)

Job Description:

Salary range is $52,500-$55,000 commensurate with experience.
Full Time: 35 (paid) hour work-week
Evenings may be required (for events, occasional appointments, and support groups)
In-person, on-site role with some WFH flexibility 1 day a week after 6 months.
No weekends
Reports To: Director of Community Support Partnership

This role is at Transition House and the search is being assisted by Jessye Kass Consulting.

Role Summary:
This case management role provides intervention services to survivors of domestic violence in Cambridge, including applicants to and tenants of Cambridge Housing Authority, and coordinates a continuum of services between Transition House, community providers, and other resources.

Salary range is $52,500-$55,000.
Additional compensation for fluency in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Arabic, Vietnamese, Amharic and Portuguese.

A day in the life of this role:
No day will be the same. You will have the opportunity to wear many hats. You are passionate and committed to serving people in need. You will be responsible for providing domestic violence support services and advocacy through an empowerment model and survivor centered framework to survivors.

NOTE: This is not a shelter-based environment. When in the office, you will have the opportunity to spend time with LuLu “the office emotional support dog” as well as other supportive teammates. Your work environment will be ever changing. Off-site days, supporting people in the community could look like: spending the day at court, advocating for a client at a local hospital, obtaining benefits for families, creating training content, and teaching others about domestic violence etc.

Summary of duties:

Provide support services, information, and referrals to survivors of domestic violence at the Community Program (Community Support Partnership) located in Central Square (Cambridge).
Provide crisis intervention and assistance in resolving immediate safety issues related to domestic violence.
Conduct safety and domestic violence related assessments and intakes.
Recommend and provide interventions and/or referrals as appropriate.
Develop and provide training and facilitate interventions for community resilience.
Maintain confidential records on each participant in a confidential database for the purpose of service/program analysis and ensuring compliance with program requirements.
Provide advocacy and support in the community via court dates, doctor’s appointments, off-site meetings, social service offices, etc
Participate in clinical and programmatic supervision, agency and cross-agency meetings.
What we need from you:
At least 2 years experience providing case management to low-income and diverse populations
Preferred experience providing support to domestic violence and trauma survivors.
Strong research, organization, and presentation skills.
High level of proficiency with the Internet, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, understanding of database record entry and videoconferencing tools
Willingness and openness to learning and receiving training.
Able to climb stairs frequently, move items up to 30 pounds.
