2023-2024 Social Work Travel Grant Award Opportunity
Posted September 14th, 2023
Dear SSW students (MA-based), alumni, and staff,
Now for the eleventh year, the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute is offering award grants to social work students and alumni in the greater Boston area. After a two-year travel hiatus due to the pandemic, we are delighted that the American Psychoanalytic Association annual conference in New York City will again be the cornerstone of the Social Work travel grant award. We are very happy to offer these grants to your students, alumni, and staff.
The conference grants are a wonderful opportunity for those social workers interested in deepening their clinical experience to attend the Annual Meetings of the American Psychoanalytic Association from February 6 through 11, 2024. The meetings will be held at the NY Hilton Midtown in New York City. The award will provide a stipend of $1,000 for any conference-related expenses, including transportation and meals. It will also offer a BPSI guest partnership along with a nine-month long mentorship with a BPSI psychoanalyst or psychotherapist, access to the BPSI library and pep-web services, and BPSI conferences and courses.
Additional information and registration for the conference will be posted as available on the website of the American Psychoanalytic Association www.apsa.org
Applications are due by October 23, 2023, this year, and are reviewed by our Social Work Travel Grant Award Committee. Winners will be notified in early December. Please note that the deadline for submission is earlier this year because the APsA meetings are in February. We would appreciate it if you could publicize the 2024 grant award as soon as possible to provide ample time for applicants to take advantage of this opportunity. The award announcement is attached to this letter for ease of posting.
Applicants who do not receive a social work travel grant award will also receive a guest partnership at the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute, which includes invitations to CEU credit conferences and courses, and PEP-web library services.
