Job Description:
Primary Functions:
To thoroughly assess prospective foster homes and adoptive homse for licensing, observing compliance with all DCF and DEEC policies and requirements. Maintain the proper compliance after the home is licensed.
Supervision:
Works as part of a team under the supervision of the Director of Youth Services.
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience working with children and adolescents, preferably with developmental disabilities and their families, possess solid knowledge of DCF/EEC policies and procedures and have supervisory experience.
Job Duties:
· To conduct a thorough home study regarding Foster Parent applicant’s ability to provide for the health, safety, & welfare of children placed in his or her care.
· Conduct annual and limited re-evaluation for Foster Parents.
· To obtain all documentation meeting DCF/DEEC requirements for the licensing and approving of foster homes.
· Visit assigned homes monthly and function as an integral part of the home’s/youths team.
· Maintain ongoing documentation related to home visits
· Work with Case Management and Nurse to ensure that all required general and child specific trainings are completed and current.
· Ensure that homes and safety plans meet the DCF and DEEC requirements.
· Participate in weekly staff meetings and ongoing trainings.
· Provide supports and guidance to Foster Parents.
· Ensure that Foster Parents’ support needs are met.
· Follow and supervise the implementation of all safety guidelines, procedures and assessment results, fire drills, emergency evacuations, etc.
· Ensure that all health, personal, safety needs of youths supported are met at all times
· Provides guidance and oversight related to the provision of clinical strategies, behavior management, and support services.
· Provide advocacy, supervision, and support to homes assigned.
· Contribute to Foster Parents evaluation.
· Assist the referral, intake and transition process.
· Provide on-call coverage as assigned
· Supervise Family Resource staff/workers

Requirements/Qualifications:
Education:
BS/BA in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field. Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counselling preferred. Minimum of LSWA license or license eligible within 6 months.
Skills/Qualities/Knowledge:
MAPP Trainer Certification preferred.
· Solid computer literacy, with strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
· Must possess a Valid Driver’s License.
· Social Work Licensure or license eligible
· Flexibility, patience, high energy, creativity, and a sense of humor;
· Compassion, empathy, and an ability to maintain sound boundaries; and
· Knowledge of effective recruitment and marketing strategies.

· Provide oversight related to all record keeping and licensing requirements
· Applicants must also demonstrate a knowledge related to all essential safeguards and procedures such as fire safety, environmental and street safety.
· Have an excellent understanding of therapeutic and developmental needs of youth.
· Demonstrate solid knowledge related to the provision of Trauma Informed Care and Positive Behavior Supports.
· Exhibit excellent cultural competency.
