COMPASS Hiring for Family Clinician-Intern

Location: Boston, Lawrence, Worcester

Job Summary:

Family Clinicians for Comprehensive Support & Stabilization (CSS) provide clinical support to clients. Clinicians work closely with Family Specialists and contacts outside of COMPASS. They need to work as an effective liaison to meet the goals of the client and the agency.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist clients in meeting the goals established by the referring agency and facilitate the clients’ development of their own independent capacity to progress and succeed
Develop an appropriate relationship with clients on caseload to insure their ongoing participation
Accompany clients during scheduled court appearances and other professional appointments
Meet with client as often as necessary and quickly respond to their needs
Connect clients to appropriate community resources
Serve as an effective liaison between clients and collaterals
Assist in transportation of clients
Organize and maintain records of the family’s progress and setbacks
Maintain communication with school and court personnel on appropriate matters
Be available for on-call emergencies
Be responsible for writing monthly reports for clients on caseload and submitting them to the Director of Community Services
Develop and maintain a working relationship with DCF Caseworkers
Maintain all appropriate records for clients including, Medical/Dental, Court, Home Visits etc.
Provide recreational incentives to clients
Develop interventions and solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of the clients

Be committed to on-going professional development, including training, supervision, and on-going support.
Understand, respond to, and embrace the cultural and linguistic diversity among our clients
Perform any duties the Executive Director deems necessary to ensure the safety of the clients and the goals of the agency

Qualifications and Skills required:

Hold a Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Demonstrated ability in the field of inner-city youth work
Able to use Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office, and all relevant databases

Physical Requirements:

Sitting in a seat for prolonged period of times
Driving a car for three hours at a time

Candidates must be graduate level candidates able to work 16-24/hrs a week. Days and times are flexible.
