Simmons Fund Graduate Assistant – Current Students

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Simmons Fund Graduate Assistant is responsible for the execution of three core key programs: the Phonathon (student calling program), Senior Class Gift, and the Advancement Ambassadors (a student group dedicated to educating students about philanthropy and engaging students in the Office of Advancement events and activities).

Key responsibilities:

Phonathon

  • Hire, train, supervise a staff of approximately 20 paid phone student callers ;
  • Coordinate each semester’s calling schedule and payroll;
  •  Run performance reports on a nightly basis to analyze program results.

Senior Class Gift

  • Recruit, train, manage, and motivate the Senior Class Gift Committee;
  • Act as advisor to the Committee in promoting the Campaign to fellow classmates through all possible vehicles;
  • Coordinate activities with campus partners in conjunction with the Committee.

Advancement Ambassadors

  • Recruit, train, educate and motivate student volunteer group to act as a bridge between campus and alumnx community;
  • Identify existing opportunities, both within Advancement and leveraging cross-campus partnerships, for student volunteers to interact with alumnx during events;
  • Collaborate with on campus student groups to provide opportunities for students to interface with the alumnx community.
  • Coordinate the Faculty/Staff payroll deduction program and stewardship in coordination with the Payroll & Benefits Office and the Office of Advancement Services;
  • Serve as backup for administrative duties including, but not limited to, managing the Simmons Fund email inbox, the Advancement 800 line, and monthly anniversary emails.
