Job Description Summary

The Assistant Director for Commuter and Off Campus Students provides programs and services
to a large commuter population and off campus students to promote opportunities for cocurricular learning academic success, retention, and overall student satisfaction.


This position serves as primary resource and advocate for a large population of first generation
and under-represented commuter students and off campus students that requires building
strong and collaborative relationships with various campus offices, student organizations, and
the surrounding Boston Community.


The Assistant Director is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising the
Commuter Assistants and Off Campus Advisors. These two student groups support the
programming for their assigned student population.


Minimum Education Required Master’s degree
Preferred Education Master’s degree
Minimum Work Experience Required 2 – 4 years

Minimum Knowledge Required
Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in
varied situations. Uses instructions and guidelines to perform the job safety function. Periodic
training will be required.


Preferred Knowledge

Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.

Qualifications Master’s degree; 2-4 years experience in student affairs administration.
