Part Time Bi-Lingual Social Worker

Community Legal Services and Counseling Center (CLSACC) is a small, dynamic community-based agency that provides affordable mental health counseling and free legal services for low-income people throughout the Boston/Cambridge area. CLSACC seeks a part-time social worker to work in its Program for Global Human Rights and Resilience. S/he will report to the Clinical Director and Associate Clinical Director.

Responsibilities include:
1. Provide psychotherapy and casework services to refugee and immigrant victims of crime.
2. Perform assessments of clients and provide referrals as needed.
3. Ensure that clients are aware of available services including victim compensation. 
4. Consult with legal staff about mental health issues of the Center’s immigrant legal clients.
5. Conduct outreach to community agencies and individuals.


1. LCSW/LICSW or LICSW eligible.
2. Fluency in Spanish is required.
3. Experience as a social worker with people with low income and with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
4. Experience with case management, diagnosis, and psychotherapy.
5. Ability to lead, motivate, encourage and work collaboratively with volunteer mental health professionals and agency staff.
6. Ability to provide case consultation to social work students and volunteer mental health professionals.
7. Competence in areas of mental illness, substance abuse, psychological trauma, cultural sensitivity and domestic violence.
8. Possess familiarity with local agencies and service providers.


The position is 20 hours/week. Salary is commensurate with experience. Excellent fringe benefit package
